As Director Patent within the Development & Engineering platform of the corporate Legal & Tax function, you will manage a team of nine patent counsels and network with Legal, Patent and Trademark Counsel of the platform an established world-wide set of IP agents as well as colleagues in Development & Engineering. The position reports directly to the VP Legal & Tax for Development & Engineering.
Key tasks & responsibilities are to:
• Advise the executive management in issues of patent strategy and litigation as well as licensing and patent transfer
• Supervise the patent team of nine Patent Counsels at three sites (Sweden, Italy and Japan)
• Manage docket and workflow for all patent procedures
• Render opinions on freedom to operate, patent enforcement and infringement matters
• Supervise the network of international patent agents
• Manage the patent portfolio of the leading edge packaging solution provider
• Continuously train and educate in-house patent counsels, administration and key stakeholders in R&D community on IPR matters

Kvalifikationer
A successful candidate is a national and European patent attorney with a background in physics, mechanical or electrical engineering and at least 8 years of professional experience in private practise or industry. Additionally you have prior experience of managing people as well as projects and possess strong business awareness.
An important aspect of the position Director Patent is the ability to collaborate with the development centres and technical service organisations around the globe, commercial and general legal functions. Consequently, candidates for this position must have distinctive interest in interdisciplinary subjects and be a motivated team-player. Fluency in English is essential, both written and verbal together with excellent interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills. Fluency in Swedish or Italian would be an advantage.
