hela Sverige Stockholm Headhunting has been assigned in the search for Hem.com's new Director of Product and Technology, a lead role in charge of building their cutting-edge e-commerce experience.
Hem.com is the first accessible high-end design brand within home furnishings created to serve online-direct customers. Their global operation spans over 35 markets. Working with some of the world's most talented designers they create a new generation of original furniture, lighting and accessories. By cutting out the middlemen and taking control of the full supply-chain, Hem.com ensures the highest quality at the lowest possible prices. Hem.com is a fast-growing startup financially backed by a solid Swiss company with long experience in the design furniture industry.
As the Director of Product and Technology you will be responsible for everything from the customer experience of the website, to managing the tech aspects of the operation. In cooperation with the customer team, fulfillment team and the marketing team you will create and implement Hem.com's technology standards across the organization.
You will be required to independently and proactively plan, articulate and develop technology initiatives according to the company strategy. This includes improving the e-commerce platform setup (Shopify) as well as the back-end (Ruby on Rails). Your responsibilities will include:
• Understand, translate and execute the UI/UX requirements defined together with other company stakeholders such as the Marketing team, COO and CEO
• Proactively and continuously improve the full e-commerce setup (front-end, back-end and ERP setup) to automatize as much of the manual processes as possible
• Translate user experience requirements into appropriate designs
• Produce, test, and launch online experiences on the e-commerce platform
We believe that you are working in a similar role today and have a deep knowledge of building high-end customer experiences on the web, preferably within retail. You have a passion for technology and experience of fullstack development. Since the back-end is built in Ruby on Rails, it is preferable that you have experience of that as well. It is an advantage if you have been working in a startup before and it is vital that you are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
As a person you are self-motivated, prestige-less and communicative. You get motivated by working in a startup environment, are willing to get your hands dirty, and can work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. You are a team player with a sense of humor, that is always willing to lend a hand.
