hela Sverige Northvolt is expanding our Battery Systems business unit and we are hiring a Director of Manufaturing/ Industrialization with previous experience from production of battery modules and packs.
The Director of Manufacturing will be in charge of industrialization and manufacturing our lithium-ion battery systems, material management, inventory, assembly, shipping and quality of the processes and products to meet the requirements of the production schedule and the customer's delivery expectations.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation of controls and procedures for the achievement of high quality and efficient production flow through operations, both for our low-volume and planned high-volume facilities. You have experience of working with stakeholders, select, justify, acquire, install and qualify new production equipment and processes. Documented experience in building production lines for battery modules and packs is needed to be successful in this role and you will likely know the vendors of machinery, factory equipment and automation systems from previous engagements.
You will be part of building a dependable team from scratch, capable of scaling Northvolt's battery system operations in Sweden and beyond. As a Director in the Battery Systems organization, you will be part of the business area leadership team and report to the Head of Battery Systems.
• Master degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Mechanical /Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
• 7+ years of manufacturing experience in a high volume, highly automated advanced manufacturing facility.
• Documented experience from taking a large scale factory from planning to production
• Demonstrated knowledge of operational excellence and continuous improvement practices and a working knowledge of the application of information technology to support process development.
• Understand the cost of ownership for various lithium-ion systems processes/materials with a proven record of effective cost reduction.
• Successful track record of scaling industrialization in a fast-growing environment ideally in the battery module & pack industry.
• Strong technical writing ability and aptitude for explaining complex issues in a concise and plain manner.
• Must have worked in a multi-cultural environment.
• Experience in lithium-ion battery technology
Northvolt is building the largest lithium-ion battery factory in Europe. This is key for future innovation and will support and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy production and consumption. Time is our greatest enemy. The global transformation to sustainable transport and energy, will only happen if there are enough battery cells produced at a significantly lower cost.
