The Director of Legal shall have the following background:
• A qualified and registered lawyer in the U.S., Europe, Australia, Canada or comparable jurisdiction.
• At least fifteen years of post-registration experience in a high technology, consumer electronics, telecommunications or similar environment.
• U.S. experience highly desirable
• Must possess excellent English language skills
The Director of Legal shall have the following responsibilities:
• Day-to-day management of the legal members of the Tobii Legal/IP team.
• Ensure Tobii's legal needs are met efficiently through management of the legal team, and effective task and time management.
• Take the lead in negotiating, drafting, and analyzing a wide variety of commercial contracts including supply agreements, purchase agreements, software licensing, consulting/professional services, procurement, and confidentiality agreements.
• Work closely with Tobii's function groups including Sales, R&D, Marketing and Procurement to advise on legal issues and risks, complex deal structures, and policies.
• Define, implement, and standardize legal agreements and processes.
• Support multiple business units throughout the world, with the assistance of other members of the Legal/IP team and external counsel.
• Examine and advise on litigation exposure, risks and processes.
• Mentor Legal/IP team members.
• Train the broader organization on legal issues.
