As one of our colleagues is taking on new challenges outside of the Volvo Group, we are looking for a new Director of Communications to join our global communications team. We are looking for someone who radiates passion, creativity, and engagement; someone who is committed to driving communication that contributes to the improvement of our organization.
Who are you?
You possess the art of crafting engaging messages, both in text and imagery. Communication isn't merely an add-on; it's a strategic instrument for achieving objectives and fostering employee engagement. You understand the power of a truly great story and weave it into clear and pleasing visuals. When complex concepts and events land on your plate, a spark lights up in your eyes, and you relish making the abstract understandable.
You are genuinely interested in people and have the ability to put yourself in other people's shoes. You are curious about new ways to communicate and brave enough to try them out. You work independently and take your own initiatives, but you also enjoy collaborating - both within a communications team and with various parties in the organization.
To excel in this role, you must possess a holistic view; being able to smoothly shift between strategic and long-term thinking, as well as managing practical, hands-on operational tasks. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can quickly shift. Above all, your primary goal is to participate in creating positive change by bringing the strategies of Group Trucks Operations to life with passion, enthusiasm, and resolute dedication.
Desirable qualities and qualifications
We'd like to see that you have relevant education from university or college, as well as at least 5 years of work experience in a communications role. We wish that you are fluent in digital communication tools and possess an outstanding sense of spoken and written English language. You should be a curious, active listener with high integrity who can interpret and bring messages to life. You're skilled at prioritizing, planning, and driving projects, and have experience of managing the people side of the transformation journey that we are on. Experience in video production and editing is a plus. In our team we value a positive and inclusive mindset and a will to contribute to successful communication supporting the transformation journey.
