hela Sverige Are you passionate about Engine Design and Development and want to contribute? In the Base Engine Section in Propulsion Power Systems, we are passionate! Join us as Director for Base Engine. In this position, you will manage one of Volvo Cars' most important teams to engineer our multiple-award-winning engine families, VEA and GEP, into their next generations with Electrification in special focus. We are dedicated to lead these architectures into the 2020's for the Geely group.
The position reports directly to the Propulsion Power Systems Senior Director. Interaction within the whole department is important, as well as with other units within R&D, and even wider in Volvo Cars and CEVT/Geely.
Main responsibilities
• Set Quality work at the top of the agenda, always and in practice
• Drive suppliers to agreed targets and commitments
• Fully responsible for the technical content, balancing Base Engine strategies (5C:s) and implementation in the Engine Unit and Vehicle projects
• Pay special attention to complete engine function and how the subsystems interact, recognizing that the engine is more than the sum of parts
• Managing the Section of four groups
• Inspire and shape the Section further as we continue to expand
• Steer activities for all activities against the set objectives, on mandate from the Department manager
• Track program status for the Section 's deliveries and drive corrective actions if outside committed targets
• Leading the Section of four groups including cross-functional leadership
Required qualifications
• Documented Strong Performance as a Group Manager, Section Manager and/or Project Manager in an Automotive Powertrain/Engine context
• Understanding of generic prerequisites versus the Engine Plants
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of Volvo Cars product development process (VPDS)
• Experience in "Underbody" development logic and understanding of bought components technical/logic planning
• Having worked in projects and having experience of an Automotive production starts
• Good knowledge of working methods and systems; release of technical design documents, task and deviation management, planning, project monitoring, financial control
• Very good knowledge on the complete system level
