Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) Communications team is now looking for a Director External Communication & PR who will develop and deliver world class PR and communication with the aim to further strengthen the Volvo Group position as an innovative organization and a technology leader.
The ideal candidate is an innovative team-player and a driven communications professional who is passionate about spreading the word about our pioneering innovations and the technology development that takes place within Volvo Group and in partnership with other leading companies.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Communications, you will be part of the global GTT Communications team and work in close cooperation with Volvo Group Corporate Communication and Business Areas in order to develop, deliver and evaluate efficient communications & PR plans and tactics.
Key responsibilities
Planning and execution of PR & Communication plans
for strategic partnerships in the area of innovation and technology development, to further strengthen the Volvo Group position as an innovative organization and a technology leader
for CampX by Volvo Group, which is a new innovation arena for technology and business transformation focusing on cross-functional collaborations in Electromobility, Automation, and Connectivity empowering employees and external partners to co-create future transport solutions
Media relations: Create, execute and participate in events created by you and the Volvo Group Communication teams. Prepare spokespersons and/or be the Volvo Group media spokesperson, develop communication assets and follow up
Coordination: Coordinate deliverables with Group Corporate Communication and Business Areas Communication teams
Monitoring: Keep abreast of developments in the PR field to improve the communication strategies
Support: Communicate the Volvo Group innovation capabilities and support growth of our innovation culture

Educational Qualifications and experience
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Minimum 5-10 year's successful experience in a similar role, including media relations and PR work in a global organization
Experience from innovation and/or R&D related communication is preferred
Critical Competencies
Ability to formulate a clear point of view on complex issues, and create a concise and well-written narrative
Hands-on approach, capable of quickly switching between strategic thinking and operational work. Pay attention to important details
Excellent people and teamwork skills. Strong capacity to build networks in a multicultural, global environment and to influence others to make things happen
Proficiency in digital communication and digital channel development
Ability to work as a trusted and respected advisor and communication coach to senior leaders. You are not easily intimidated but know where and when to compromise
Solid planner and event manager
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with desktop publishing, graphics, and basic video/photo editing software is considered a plus
Self-starter
Fluent in English
