Right now we are looking for a leader to our Design department. In this role you will have leadership over a team of ~200 engineers, divided into 10 subgroups with each manager. The field of responsibility for the design department is analysis, mechanical design, chemistry and electronics for new products as well as maintenance for present products.
Key Responsibilities
• Management role. You have responsibility over a team of high professional leaders. You will lead and develop the people in your team as well as taking responsibility for the development of working processes and practices within your area of responsibility in the quest for continuous improvement.
• Member of the PD management team. The PD management team covers all core processes of Product Development, including Project management, Design, Verification & Validation, Documentation and Support processes. Each individual in the team has a great opportunity to influence the future of Volvo Penta.
• Technology Development. Based on strategy and roadmaps contribute to technology development within decided technology areas, we believe our future will be connected, electrified and automated.

• Hands on visionary, meaning the ability to convey a compelling vision but also the competence to bring it down to real roadmaps and actions.
• Teamwork and collaborative spirit, to be able to build on the pool of knowledge and assets within Volvo Penta, the broader Volvo Group as well as external partners.
• Leadership. You are capable of leading your entire team through the members of your management team in order to further build processes and skills to execute set plans.
• R&D experience, with a passion for powertrain development in a marine and industrial environment.
We expect you are a social person who enjoys working with others in flexible team constellations.
We believe you have a University degree as the basis for your career. You are fluent in English as well as Swedish both in business and privately as well as in speaking and writing.
