We are on the exciting journey to change the way mobility is provided, how vehicles are developed, produced, maintained, and sold and Customs and Trade is in the middle and an important part of this.
We believe that we are somewhat unique in the automotive world in that Customs is given a loud voice in all decision's development, manufacturing, sourcing, and pricing.
As the Head of Customs Programs, you will become the key person when it comes to our future (and current) setup, car programs and company wide changes such as new plants and sites and changed industrial, logistical or commercial setup.
What you will do!
You will take the leadership role in the team "Customs Programs" which consists of 6 experienced customs professionals. The team is relatively new, and your first job will be to define the direction and set the plans for the coming years.
The team will own all matters customs in connection with our processes, sites, car programs and logistics setup.
The team will be responsible to drive the optimal customs setup for new company wide changes including new plants and production sites, new distribution and sales channels, new or change logistics setups and any other change coming from changes to our way of doing business or approaching our customers, suppliers or support functions. The work will be to proactively drive improvements as well as reactively respond to initiatives within the business.
The aim of the team is to achieve our goals of "Zero wasted duties" meaning that any duty paid should be legally owed and all legal avenues of reducing this payment have been explored and "Designed for Customs" meaning that all decisions in the company is adequately explored from a customs perspective before deciding.
You will be the responsible for setting the plan together with your team, executing and following up the plan. A key success factor will be your ability to grow your team members' abilities and become embedded in the all the right fora for decisions.
You will be part of the management team of Volvo Cars' Global Customs & Export Controls and will report to the Head of Global Customs & Export Controls.
