Cost Estimator Director is the managerial role of the Cost Estimating team at CEVT and belongs to the Finance Department. The role and responsibility is to lead and develop the Cost Estimating activities in the CEVT organization and deliver the requested cost estimate support. Besides the managing role the Cost Estimating Director should also be able to fulfill a cost estimator specialist role as well.
You are responsible for creating cost estimates from idea and concept phase to existing products. In cross-functional teams, you will support the organization to choose the most cost efficient solutions out of your material and technical production skills. You understand and are skilled to analyze material cost and quality, suppliers production processes and tools as base for the cost estimates.
As our Cost Estimator, you will have a specialist role within your profession, supporting product development in the concept phase and the purchaser in supplier negotiations. You will have a close cooperation with the key users within the finance, product development, purchase departments as well as with the innovation teams.
Main focus in your role
* Lead, support and develop the members of the team.
* Drive process improvements across all areas of payments.
Cost estimators are expected to perform the following
* Provide R&D and Purchase department with specialist competence regarding cost estimate analysis on production tooling and part price.
* Act as advisor/specialist in the cost target setting processes.
* When requested, support R&D with cost specialist competences when evaluating and selecting technical concepts.
* Support buyers in supplier negotiations regarding tooling and part price.
* Lead and manage Cost Estimating of new or changed parts.

• Estimating process and interaction with other processes
• Local process adaptations * Lead and manage development of systems within cost estimating
* Execute and support internal benchmark activities
