We are looking for a Director of Methods & Processes within our IFS Research & Development organization.
IFS Research & Development has more than 500 employees and is located at four main locations: Linköping (Sweden), Gothenburg (Sweden), Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Kandy (Sri Lanka) Our methods and processes are designed to work in a highly distributed environment while leveraging the benefits of Lean and Agile principles. You will be expected to sustain and develop these.
The primary mission of the Methods & Processes unit is to develop, maintain and support the implementation and use of methods and processes that will enable R&D to continue to deliver high-quality products and services in an efficient manner. It is also responsible for coaching our seven different Product Groups in their use of these methods and processes.
As Director of the Methods & Processes group, you will have the challenging task of driving continuous improvements in your area of responsibility.
You will lead and have personnel responsibility for the group consisting of four Process Owners in Sweden and also supervise coworkers in our Sri Lanka organization.
You will report to the Head of R&D and be part of the R&D Management Team.
Qualifications
As Director of Methods & Processes, you are proactive and come up with new concepts and ideas, as well as innovative approaches and insights. You take pride in delivering high-quality services and solutions. You like to work with people and can adapt to the team; you build team spirit, and motivate and empower others.
As a manager, you make clear, prompt decisions that may involve tough choices or considered risks. You take the initiative, and can and define future needs in your organization.
To succeed in this job you need to focus on, and have an excellent understanding of, customer needs. You should also know how to create customer value. This means that you are communicative, service-minded and have the ability to plan, organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
You also need to be an excellent communicator, with the ability to present your own viewpoints and way of thinking to get your message across clearly and succinctly. And you do so fluently in English, orally as well as written.
Besides the personal skills mentioned above, you need a very good understanding of software development principles such as Agile and Lean. You have probably been working in a management position before and are interested in the development of organizations and processes. If you have implemented Agile or Lean in other large and/or distributed development organizations, it is an advantage.
