Volvo Penta Process & IT is a global function responsible for P&IT planning and portfolio management, Process & IT Solution Management, Information Architecture and Enterprise architecture. The process & IT function is an active part in developing and shaping the Volvo Penta business offering and IT solutions to meet current and future customer needs.
Position description

Using data to build business value requires a good understanding of business and product data, end-to-end design thinking and an in-depth understanding of business opportunities and key enablers.
We are now looking for a Director for Data Analytics & Information Management that will help us take the next step in the data governance, data analytics and information security journey. A newly formed function with a group of highly specialized colleagues will be responsible for developing our capabilities to analyse, govern, manage and protect our data in order to create tangible value for our customers and our internal operations.
This Director position is a global functional role reporting to the CIO and Vice President of Process & IT at Volvo Penta.
The position is based at Volvo Penta headquarters in Göteborg, Sweden.
Core Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a team of experts within the areas of Information architecture, Business Intelligence, Data analytics, Information security, information modelling and IT solutions management for BI and data analytics
• Develop strategies and roadmaps for data analytics within Volvo Penta and for data analytics as a service provided to our customers
• Develop strategies and roadmaps and organizational structures for data governance and information security within Volvo Penta
• Together with your team members, assist Volvo Penta business stakeholders with breaking down complex business questions and opportunities into feasible End-to-End concepts, capabilities, new IT solution designs and technology needs
• Work as data analytics and information management evangelist within Volvo Penta
• Manage the activity portfolio and budget for the applicable areas
• Manage the pipeline of strategic development activities for your area
• Identify and plan for resource & competence capacity needs to support development efforts
• Prepare needed decisions for the relevant Process & IT decision bodies

Minimum Years of Experience Required
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience from working with information management and/or data analytics
Minimum Education Required
• Academic degree on Bachelor or Master level in Information technology, Engineering, Mathematics, statistics or other area relevant for this position

• Deep understanding in theories and technologies for data analytics, information management and data governance
• A customer, innovation and business development oriented mind-set
• Very good communications skills with an ability to explain complex topics to different audiences
• Self-motivated with a profound interest in developing new services, capabilities or technologies to meet internal and external customer needs
• Strong, proven ability to leverage Information Technology to innovate and develop business processes and capabilities
• Deep understanding of different processes and customer needs from global companies
• Ability to handle complexity and create feasible ways forward in a complex global environment
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills: ability to effectively collaborate, network and interface with a wide variety of colleagues on different levels, across functions and geographies
• Excellent analytical and planning skills and proven capacity to execute against targets
• Learning on the fly with a "Go to Gemba", boots on the ground attitude
• Communication and presentation skills at the highest level
• Advanced level of English (oral and written)
