hela Sverige - Develop a Direct Reduction process for ironmaking based on hydrogen
• Plan and co-ordinate Direct Reduction experiments in lab- and pilot-scale
• Assist in the design and construction of a Direct Reduction pilot plant
• Assist in the pilot plant research campaigns and evaluation of results
• Take an active part in the technological development team efforts to design a fossil-free steelmaking value-chain representing the Direct Reduction perspective
• Document obtained know-how, identify future needs and plan research efforts
• Contribute to the company overall objectives and development of know-how
You have exeperience from working with the Direct Reduction process (based on hydrogen) and have experience in the design, commissioning and operation of ironmaking Direct Reduction Plants, preferably shaft furnaces.
Furthermore you have:
• MSC and /or PhD in chemistry or metallurgy
• Theoretical skills with experience in performing thermodynamic and kinetic calculations in order to support design of experiments and/or production units.
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Problem solving oriented with a professionalism integrity
HYBRIT aims to replace coking coal, traditionally needed for ore-based steelmakning with hydrogen. The result will be unique - the world's first fossil-free steelmaking technology, with virtually no carbon footprint. In spring 2018, a pilot plant for fossil-free steel production will be planned for to be up and running by 2020, and the goal is to have a solution for fossil-free by 2035.
