hela Sverige Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Scania is continuously introducing new solutions, new components with the target to give the customer a solution specifically composed to suit their needs. For Scania the perceived quality of this solution by our customers is vital for our premium product. Controlling the dimensional demands is key to securing the correct assembly, the exclusive appearance and other parameters such as aerodynamics, noise, strength and the ability to assemble.
In the dimensional Engineering team our purpose is to ensure the exterior & interior dimensional requirements of a product, both aesthetically and functionally. This is done through simulations, robust geometrical design proposals and assembly assurance. We participate in early stages of projects through to their implementation, and collaborate closely with - among many others - styling, design and production to achieve our targets.
We are now searching for tolerance variation simulation engineers to help Scania continue to develop our premium truck in ongoing and upcoming projects, as well as helping us define our role in ongoing process and organizational changes.
Your responsibilities
You independently plan for, execute and deliver calculations of dimensional requirements in different stages of a project to help create a geometrically robust and aesthetical product. You also calculate on functional demands to ensure that we have optimized tolerances on parts when it comes to cost, design and functionality.
You will be a vital part of our team with a responsibility to continuously improve our way of working, our processes and methods.
Your profile
You have worked with simulation before and have a good understanding of what creates a robust design solution.
• You have a BSc or MSc in Engineering, meritorious if within simulation
• You have >2 years relevant tolerance variation simulation experience
• You master both written and spoken English
• Experience in the software RD&T is a strong advantage.
• Can use Catia for model evaluation, Enovia is considered meritorious
• Knowledge of and experience from Scania products is considered meritorious.
• Programmingexperience working with VBA is considered meritorious.
You are analytical with a good attention to details and are able to connect them to the bigger picture. You structure and plan your work and results to reach committed deadlines - feeling responsible for the results, and you communicate those results to the customer in a clear and fact-based manner. You see improvements as a natural part of your work and enjoy working cross-functionally to continuously improve our way of working.
We offer
You will work with simulations in different parts of our products which will give you a good understanding of our complete modular offer. You will be part of a small, but experienced, group eager to assist and support you in your daily work, and where you will have close contact with designers, production engineers, styling representatives and at times suppliers.
