About Chalmers e-Commons
The mission of Chalmers e-Commons is to provide Chalmers ' integrated hub for enabling digitalised research and innovation, empowering researchers and innovators at Chalmers and giving Chalmers a competitive advantage in fundamental research and collaborations with other parts of society. The initiative is a unique university-wide initiative to integrate access to e-infrastructure resources, support, and expertise in collaborative projects for supporting the full range of digital aspects of research.
About Digital Research Engineers at Chalmers e-Commons
Chalmers e-Commons hosts an expert hub of Digital Research Engineers, collaborating with researchers, research initiatives, and research infrastructures to advance research and innovation in all research areas. The team of engineers supports research by providing expertise on the practical use of data analysis/management and computing resources, advancing the state-of-the-art in selected collaborative projects where research methods and software are developed and used. Here, the Digital Research Engineers work closely with both the researchers and the e-infrastructure experts in e-Commons. For clusters of problem areas, the Digital Research Engineers build, coordinate, and further develop networks of Chalmers experts on digitally supported research. The Engineers also provide advice on which e-infrastructure resources and services - locally, nationally, and internationally - that will be most suitable for specific research efforts.
The employment presented in this advertisement has a focus on modern data analysis (including machine learning/AI) and scientific visualization. Part of the work will be performed within e-Commons AI/ML group, supporting Chalmers' research projects. Also, the work will be partly performed within the framework of the national research infrastructure for visualization, InfraVis. InfraVis is a long-term effort by the Swedish Research Council and nine Swedish partner universities where visualization experts work with various software solutions and access to high-end visualization laboratories, providing support to research projects at the national level.
