It is not every day that someone launches a new mobility brand, but that isn't what is unusual about us. Lynk & Co is the future of car ownership that is subscription based, the mobility equivalent of Netflix. We are a new global urban and sharable mobility brand focusing on the needs of the connected generation. We challenge the conventional car industry of today.

Our team based in Gothenburg, Amsterdam and Hangzhou, are reshaping mobility as we know it.
We are a rapidly expanding global mobility brand. We offer a culture of personal development and role growth. You will have the pleasure of working in a fast-paced environment with a team that punches considerably above its weight. We look for collaborators. Original thinkers. People who value being open, personal and challenging. People who think (like we do) that imagination is as important as expertise and value instinct and insight as much as experience. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

Data Protection Officer & Legal Counsel

As you can read above Lynk & Co is a company that is challenging the car industry. This is done e.g. via a business model that is a B2C direct sales model without a dealership network handling the sales and distribution to the end customer. This poses many opportunities but also challenges, and the role as DPO and Legal Counsel is in this context a very important and visible role.

We are a start-up, with the possibility and challenges that comes with that. In practice it means you need to be a driven problem solver, a person that takes initiatives and, since things can change quickly here, you can handle and quickly respond to changing priorities.

Our current DPO Jesper is now moving on to new adventures and we are looking for his replacement.
What Jesper has done, and that you will move forward with, is to oversee policies and procedures, ensure compliance, provide assistance and advice to Lynk & Co projects and operations as well as provide internal advice. You will belong to the legal department of Lynk & Co and also support the company in different legal matters.

Some more details of what the role entails:
* Inform and advise on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its requirements, liaising with local support as required. Serving as a subject matter expert and developing and implementing a robust compliance plan.
* Partner with all key business areas, in particular Information Security and the IT team, to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, products and initiatives.
* Handle enquiries and issues relating to data privacy practices and data subject rights.
* Monitor the industry landscape to keep visibility on evolutions, trends, and best practices related to privacy.
* Legal assessments and giving legal assistance on corporate legal commercial matters.
* Attend corporate meetings and preparing corporate resolutions.
* Provide strategic guidance regarding general corporate compliance.
* Drafting and negotiating legal contracts.

To be successful in this role we believe that you have:
* A Master of Laws degree (LL.M), with 3+ years of experience with legal counselling either from a law firm or as in-house legal counsel
* Demonstrated experience of managing data privacy issues in a global organization.
* Expertise in global and European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the GDPR including drafting of privacy policies, technology provisions and outsourcing agreements
* Demonstrated record of engaging with emerging laws and technologies
* Experience in providing general legal guidance, including training and hosting awareness raising activities
* Experience in working with large organizations, creating and managing general compliance policies and procedures

The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy and with an attention to details. Equally important is a positive spirit, strong team-player skills and having fun at work!
Of course, you feel totally comfortable speaking to a wide-ranging audience, from the board of directors to data subjects, from managers to IT staff and lawyers.
The position is based in Gothenburg, and you will work with a global scope, which might involve travelling.
