Volvo Penta Digital & IT is a global function responsible for Digital planning and portfolio management, IT Solution Management, Digital Innovation, Information Management and Enterprise architecture. The Digital & IT function is an active part in developing and shaping the Volvo Penta Digital business offering and IT solutions to meet current and future customer needs.
An important part of the transformation will be to continue digitalizing our supply chain for products and services - with strong emphasis on creating an excellent customer experience in the customer touchpoints.
Position description
Order & Delivery (O&D) platforms is now looking for a Digital Product manager - Preparation & manufacturing solutions with the mission to provide effective digital solutions with focus on preparing manufacturing, MES & local sites applications.
In tight collaboration with other Volvo Group and Volvo Penta organizations, you will proactively develop and drive Digital & IT preparation & manufacturing solutions roadmap to support building effective business flows and user experiences. As the digital product manager, you will together with O&D platform team, process managers and development partners transform strategies and roadmaps into tangible frequent deliveries of digital capabilities, technology development and digital solutions.
Your responsibility will be to secure that the IT solutions in your portfolio deliver the expected business capabilities, features and value over the solution/product lifecycle.
This position is a global functional role reporting to the Director Order & Delivery platforms at Volvo Penta Digital & IT.
The position is based at Volvo Penta headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden or in other suitable city close to our IT development team or Volvo Penta sites.
Occasional domestic and international travel is expected.
Core Responsibilities
Own and manage IT solutions within the preparation & manufacturing portfolio
Own and manage the development and operations budget for your IT solutions
Develop and manage strategies and product roadmaps for your IT solutions
Plan and prioritize development roadmaps and release plans and backlogs for your IT solutions
Identify and plan for resource & competence capacity needs to support development and operations efforts
Scout for new trends and technologies within Supply Chain and manufacturing area and progressively develop the solution accordingly
Be a trusted advisor to the different line organizations, acting as the bridge between the different Volvo Penta organizations in need of IT solutions, and the suppliers building and maintaining the IT solutions.
Actively participate in breaking down complex business questions and opportunities into feasible end-to-end concepts, capabilities, and new IT solution designs
Act as a Epic owner for identified cross functional EPICs
Experience Required
We are looking for someone that has solid experience from product leadership and in-depth technical understanding of a modern supply chain.
You are ready to take the next step in the journey and build global capabilities & solutions for a very complex business environment.
We believe you have:
Proven professional experience within preparation & manufacturing area
Experience from designing and delivering IT solution connected to preparation & manufacturing is a merit.
Experience from Technical Product Ownership and Agile IT setup is a merit.
Experience from working with Preparation or MES applications is a merit.
Education
Academic degree on Bachelor or Master Level in Information technology, Engineering, communication or other area relevant for this position, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.
Competence & Skills
A customer, innovation, and business development-oriented mind-set
Deep interest and knowledge in E2E Supply chain
Deep understanding in modern ERP and preparation & manufacturing solutions, both from a usability and technical perspective
Good interpersonal and leadership skills: ability to effectively collaborate, network and interface with a wide variety of colleagues on different levels, across functions and geographies
Solid communication skills with an ability to explain complex topics to different audiences
Fluent in English, verbal & written
Good analytical and planning skills and proven capacity to execute against targets
