Volvo CE in Braås, located close to Växjö, develop autonomous and articulated haulers and wheel loaders. We do everything from product planning, development, sales and marketing to purchasing, manufacturing and assembly of the complete machine. The Team
Product Platforms for the Autonomous & Articulated Hauler is part of the Volvo CE Technology organization.
We are currently 18 engineers with specialist competencies working in a collaborative setup across product departments. Securing consistent technology sharing and concept development, supporting the product platforms, Medium, Large, Heavy and Autonomous. The Platforms are involved in the complete product life cycle from advanced engineering to aftermarket support.
The Role
The person we are looking for will be responsible for the buildup of the consolidated virtual machine model in Catia. The role also includes maintaining and developing this DMU (Digital Mockup) over the lifespan of the product. You will play an important role in all development work and be an important support to the technical project management. With the responsibility for the machine composition you will also be the hub and an important communication link for all designing departments and system designers.
You will also be responsible for our VR toolbox supporting design, operations, service engineering with visualization. Use of VR (and AR) is still under development in our organization and with good knowledge we hope it will develop further.
Who are you?
You are likely a CAD Ninja. Your communication skills are impeccable as well as your ability to land negotiations using the Catia tool and technical argumentation. Your ability to support the organization in decisions is crucial. We want you to be the one designers turn to in moments when they lack clarity.
To be successful in your new role we believe you have the following knowledge/experience:
M.Sc./B.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent
At least 5 years' experience in Catia design
Experience within product development and machine or subsystem projects
A customer focus and genuine interest in technical solutions
Strong communication skills in Swedish, English, spoken and written
Experience/knowledge in the following areas will be beneficial and are meritorious:
Off-road machinery / Heavy trucks, Experience from automotive or construction equipment, Systems Engineering, Model based Systems Engineering, Product and system architecture
