Job description
The design units "Digital Radio ASIC Design" and "ASIC and Advanced FPGA Design," at Lindholmen in Gothenburg, Sweden, are responsible for the ASIC development for WCDMA and LTE Radio Units and WCDMA Baseband. We also work with ASIC and FPGA development within other areas at Ericsson.
Work at the two ASIC Design units includes:
• Defining and planning new ASIC projects with product and system management
• Implementing and verifying ASICs before manufacturing
• Implementing and verifying FPGAs
• Supporting other Ericsson development organizations in ASIC development
• Verification and debugging of ASICs in the lab
• Technical evaluation of ASIC and FPGA suppliers
You will work in a team, where you will be responsible for the implementation of one part of the design. This includes writing design and verification specifications, block design in VHDL, verification using SystemVerilog, Specman or VHDL, as well as ASIC backend activities in cooperation with an ASIC vendor.
Depending on your system and leadership skills, you could also systemize or lead a FPGA/ASIC project. Consequently this would include the technical responsibility or planning and following the progress of the project.
Qualifications and competence
Master of Science Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent academic qualifications.
Relevant experience within ASIC and FPGA design, such as:
• Documenting your work in Design Specifications and Verification Specifications
• Digital signal processing
• Transferring design specifications and mathematical algorithms to VHDL code
• Development and verification tools for ASIC and FPGA
• Object-oriented programming, preferably in SystemVerilog
• Design experience with Altera, Xilinx and possibly other FPGA vendors
• Knowledge in Synthesis, STA and DFT.
You must be fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken. You are self-motivated and are accustomed to working with others in project teams.
