The Exhaust aftertreatment system (EATS) department is responsible for the global platform development of exhaust aftertreatment systems for Volvo Group's different product around the world.
We develop hardware as well as the software. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our products, from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase.
Our group, EATS diagnostics (Exhaust AfterTreatment System), is responsible to develop functionality to diagnose the EATS. The diagnostics are mainly used to verify that the trucks environmental impact is kept low during the products complete lifetime and support the mechanics to make efficient repair.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a diagnostics system function developer you will be part of many aspects of development and implementation of embedded software functions. You and the team will understand the legal and customer requirements, and will design robust software solutions. The work involves the entire chain; from early concept development to maintaining our functionality in our production fleet. A working day can be both software development in front of the computer, as well as driving a truck, testing your developed functionality.
We mostly use the graphical programing tool, Simulink/Targetlink, but knowledge in m-scripting, and C programming is useful to understand and improve our software architecture and testing framework.

Responsibilities and tasks will be:
Break down of requirements from certification and other stakeholders. Analyse and design robust control strategies to meet diagnostics regulation and accurate fault detection
Design, implement and verify EATS diagnostics functionality
Document functionality; write Monitor Descriptions and Repair and Maintenance Information
Participate in system engineering work to improve the EATS product
Inspect and adapt regarding procedures and processes, e.g. for automated and manual verification tests or for software function development
Participation in networks, joining certification engineers and specialists to cascade information from diagnostics related activities in the company affecting team
Share the diagnostics disciplined knowledge within the organization

Required skills and qualifications:
To be able to take on this challenge successfully we believe that you will possess the following skills and competencies:
Master or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Applied physics or comparable
