As a key member of Ericsson's Sapper Operational team, the Operations Strategy and Customer Experience Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of BCSS's evolved cloud-native portfolio as well as exploring new ways of building and delivering solutions, including enabling cloud native "as a Service" offerings.
What you will do
In the Sapper SRE team, you will be responsible for the physical and logical connectivity when onboarding new customers, specifically establishing the network connectivity by connecting Sapper customers' IT/Telcom systems and infrastructure with Sappers' CNaaS, which is running in a Hyperscale Cloud Provider, delivered as a SaaS offering.
This role demands a good understanding of both on-premises and cloud hardware, such as network switches and routers and cloud technologies, guaranteeing seamless security, data protection and reliability from end-to-end deployment and delivery perspective. In a fast-changing innovative environment, with a DevSecOps/Service Reliability Engineering mindset, you will find fulfillment in successfully implementing new cloud-native services and delighting new customers by making it very easy for them.
Responsibilities:
Deploy on-premise and cloud infrastructure for our "as a service" customer's IT/Telcom systems and infrastructure.
Manage the scope, cost, and oversee the physical installation and configuration of hardware like routers, switches, or firewalls at customer locations.
Scope, procure, and facilitate the installation and configuration of hardware physically like routers, switches, or firewalls in each customer deployment together with professional installation partners and/or the customer's teams.
Test and validate installations for proper functionality before training and going live.
Collaborate cross-functionally both internally and externally to drive network installation and configuration to successful completion.
Efficiently manage multiple external vendors such and stakeholders to meet implementation requirements within specified timelines.
Guide key stakeholders through the implementation lifecycle to ensure the successful deployment of our Sapper CNaaS.
Proactively identify implementation risks and implement efficient mitigation strategies to safeguard project success.
Help identify areas where the team can build in automation, and powered by Big Data, Machine Learning (ML)/ AI, including Large Language Models, to convert manual steps to a Connectivity-as-a-Service offering.
The skills you bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
1+ years of experience in traditional telecom networking including routers, firewalls, IP SEC, IP routing protocols and methods
1+ years of experience in hybrid-cloud technologies, architectures, networking, and cloud-based systems within the telecom industry.
Proven Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)in customer interfacing deployment and setup infrastructure with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service.
Additional expertise in:
Leveraging Google Cloud, which enables access to Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networks and Compute Engine virtual machine (VM) instances from on-premises networks or other cloud providers.
Connecting sites through a Network Connectivity Center hub located in the HCP locations.
Utilizing HCP Workspace and supported APIs, facilitating access to specific products and services.
Interacting with CDN(content delivery network)(Cloudflare) providers, allowing the selection of supported content delivery providers with Direct Peering links to HCP's edge network, enabling traffic routing from VPC networks.
Identity as a Service (IDaaS) working knowledge for identity services and endpoint administration for HCP
Working, hands on knowledge of various firewalls and other cloud-managed security network architectures
Understanding and experience with the Application Landing Zones concept Internet-facing, Internet first, Cloud Native, and Zero Trust
Understanding and experience with Corporate Network Connectivity and firewalls setups
Understanding Cloudflare's SSE & SASE Platform and Composable Zero Trust networking with a connectivity cloud (Global Identity Aware Proxy)
Extra plus is an understanding of Ericsson's central service for Identity Management and access provisioning, EGAD (Ericsson Global Active Directory) and XEAD (eXternal Ericsson Active Directory) which is based on Active Domain Directory Services.
