ABOUT THE ROLE
Our platform handles tens of thousands of req/s with sub-second response times across the globe. We serve ads to some of the biggest live events in the world, providing reports and forecasts based on billions of log rows. These are some of the complex challenges that make dev work at INVIDI interesting and rewarding. To accomplish this, we use the best frameworks and tools out there or, when they are not good enough, we write our own.
We seek highly dedicated, motivated, and passionate Java Developers who can use the right tools to find the best solutions to problems. We embrace the Agile methodology and as part of a scrum team you will play an important role in all aspects of product development-design, development, integration, and testing. And you will share in the pride and satisfaction as your work makes it into production at INVIDI's clients.
Tasks:
• You will design, develop, deploy, and operate backend services in Java that are scalable, durable and performant.
• You will collaborate closely with peers and product owners in an autonomous, cross-functional team.
• You will help other team members grow as engineers through code review, pairing, and mentoring.
• Depending on your previous experiences you will drive and run major initiatives cross-team and locations
TECHSTACK
Most of the code we write is Java with Dropwizard, but every problem is unique, and we always evaluate the best tools for the job. We also work with or are looking at working with technologies such as SQL, Kafka, Kafka Streams, Flink, Spark, AWS (AWS Analytics Services, Columnar storage, Athena), Google Cloud (GKE, App Engine, Pub/Sub), Riak, Go and Rust.
YOUR PROFILE
You are an outstanding developer (Java/Kotlin preferred) who loves to develop distributed high-volume systems. You care about the craft and cherish the opportunity to work with smart, supportive, and highly motivated colleagues. You are curious; you like to learn new things, mentor, and share knowledge with team members. Like us, you strive to handle complexity by keeping things simple and elegant.
As a part of the DevOps team, you will be on-call for the services that the team owns. You are on-call for one week, approximately once per month. While On-call, you are required to be reachable by telephone and able to act upon alarm using your laptop.
Skills and qualifications:
• An aptitude for analytical problem solving.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work well in an Agile scrum environment.
• Skill to quickly learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented design, data structures and analytics, and algorithms
It will be very good if you have experience in:
• Build tools such as Gradle or Maven.
• Containerization with Dockerand Kubernetes.
• Developing and deploying RESTful web services.
• Cloud experience with GCP and AWS and their services.
• Infrastructure as code g., Cloud/Kubernetes configurations
