Do you have a passion for Cloud and Software as a Service applications that run on Amazon Web Services? Do you have technical expertise in Linux and IT infrastructure operations? Do you enjoy scripting, automation and working with continuous improvements and delivery with high quality? If so, become a key resource of our Cloud/SaaS Infrastructure and Operations group that is actively involved in the development, QA, and operations of our Cloud/SaaS product. We need people responsible for production, operations, and test infrastructure administration for our distributed SaaS solution.
Responsibilities
Operate our always-available cloud based software as a service (SaaS) application including necessary redundancy and load balancing.
Use monitoring tools to prevent and find problems, resolve and/or escalate to development.
Make sure that the service can be recovered and restored quickly from backups.
Build and manage development and testing environments, assisting developers in debugging application issues using tools.
Develop and maintain scripts to build required automation and tools.
Setting up and maintaining our continuous integration and delivery platform.
Participate as part of our 2nd line support.
Evolve and learn new things in the area of your work to keep your knowledge up to date.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's or master?s degree and at least 3 years of professional work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Linux administration experience (preferably Debian or similar) with focus on distributed and scalable systems.
Knowledge and experience from coding and scripting in Python.
Understanding of protocols and technologies like HTTP, SSL, SQL, HTML, and VPN.
Application clustering / load balancing concepts and technologies.
Experience and interest in software development and scripting.
Experience in continuous integration and test automation.
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of and keen interest in LAN and WAN communications technologies such as Ethernet, VLAN, ICMP, IGMP, ARP, IP, UDP and TCP.
Plusses
Solid experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies such as EC2, and S3
Experience with monitoring and logging systems.
Experience with Jenkins.
Development using BSD socket programming.
