About this opportunity:
Our unit, belonging to Ericsson Research in Group Function Technology, is responsible for Ericsson's microwave and antenna hardware research. We have world leading competences in areas from digital and RF component design to packaging, building practices, antenna hardware and system design! We work intensively with innovative companies and universities in Europe and the rest of the world as well as Ericsson's product development and product management units.
Ericsson Research secures technology leadership for the Ericsson group impacting our product design. We have been key contributors in forming the concepts and standardization for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile networks.
The equipment that is connecting the end user to the mobile network and is running local applications is often referred to as the device. We are now looking for researchers with interest in device research for related to antenna solutions, zero energy devices and ISAC for mobile networks beyond 5G.
What you will do:
• Scout state of the art radio and antenna technologies
• Drive innovation by applying the above technologies to the field of device research
• Experimentally verify designs and technology demonstrators in lab and trials with customers outside Ericsson
• Drive and influence research activities with university partners
• Drive patent creation and submit invention disclosures
• Publish results in leading scientific journals and conferences
• Contribute to device research strategy
• Present prototypes, concept demonstrations and publications to internal partners and customers
The skills you bring:
• Master of Science or PhD degree within embedded systems, microwave-, mm-wave- or THz communication systems
• Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge
• Experience from working in a lab environment
• Excellent skills in analog design tools
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English
• Ability to formulate problems and seek solutions to them independently
• Creativity and skills to work independently
• Ability to develop and drive new ways of working and produce research results in an efficient way
• Fact-based way of working with focus on quality and efficiency
• Comfortable with presenting technical results
• Ability to create Ericsson Internal and external contact network
