Job description
Rocktec is a division within Atlas Copco?s Mining and Rock excavation business area. The division designs, develops and manufactures rock drills, rotation units and automation solutions in the form of rig control systems. Rocktec also includes an internal consulting organization ?Specialist Engineering Services? whose mission is to support other divisions with product development, engineering, laboratory test services, and patent protection. Materials laboratory is one of the specialist functions within the internal consulting organization.
Our rock excavation equipment operates during very severe conditions, above as well under ground, all around the globe. They must operate in an equally excellent way in extreme cold as in tropical heat, soaked with highly corrosive mine water, and covered with stone dust. In addition, the equipment is exposed to complex load conditions, impact loads, etc. during operation, which naturally put high demands on the materials.
The materials laboratory has advanced instruments at disposal on-site for surface characterization, chemical analysis, evaluation of mechanical properties, failure analysis, etc. Through collaboration with external resources we have access all necessary tools to handle all kinds of material related issues.
We are looking to recruit an experienced and talented material Engineering who are practical and have an engineering or mechanical background to work on a temporary basis. The role will involve mechanical test, material analysis followed by sample preparation completion for detailed investigation.
Mission
The mission as a material Engineer is to support our organizations with top knowledge of materials through involvement in R&D projects and delivering technical reports, recommendations, and solutions to material issues. Your typical tasks are failure analysis and solutions to material issues work. The tasks are both practical and theoretical. Our clients are typically from the design, production, purchasing, and quality organizations.
Experience,Knowledge,Educational requirements
You hold a Master of Science degree or equivalent focused on materials. Well-proven experience of material investigations, preferably from the industry, is a strong advantage.

The successful candidate should be based in Örebro, Sweden. Örebro is Sweden?s seventh biggest city, with around 130,000 inhabitants. It is located in the center of Sweden, population-wise ? 2 hours to the east coast (including Stockholm); 3 hours to the west coast.
