hela Sverige The Development Leader role includes bringing the technical specification based on consumer needs from marketing/TAM and to combine that with the Industrial design needs into a cost efficient product easy to produce and with the right quality. To do this the Development Leader needs to cooperate closely with Tech & Lab, IDC, purchase, quality, production/supplier and the tooling team.
In the Engineering role the skills in CAD (Catia V5) and designing plastic parts for molding is very important.
As a Development Leader/Engineer - Expert your main responsibilities are:
• Plan and follow up of engineering activities (time and recourse plans, product cost, action plans, system description etc.)
• Report progress, risks and deviation from project plan to the Project Manager
• Assure that technically feasible and well-verified and defined solutions are chosen for the product. Selected solutions must be based on cross-functional input (IDC, Marketing, Purchasing, Production....)
• Assure that appropriate activities are performed according to PMF gate
• Lead, plan and delegate the engineering work within the engineering team
• Creation of technical documentation and make sure that these are updated and available for other functions
• Take part in creation of test plans made by Lab & Tech
• Evaluate test results and identify, plan and implement actions to fulfill specification
• Place external orders such as prototypes etc after approval from Project Manager or concerned cost center owner
• Check and certify invoices
• Order over-time after approval from Engineering Manager
• Approve technical documentation and archive them in correct way (Teamcenter, 3D/2D/specifications...)
• Support Marketing, IDC, Production/supplier, Tech & Lab, Purchasing, Tooling team, Quality and other functions involved in the project with product know-how.
• Take the role as Engineer in a project as well as performing Engineering tasks and at the same time act as DL in a project.

Education :
Degree of Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering or similar knowledge level.

Expertise within :
• Computer-aided design (CAD - Catia V5)
• Designing plastic parts for injection molding
• PLM system (e.g Teamcenter)
Proficiency within :
• Project work
• Leadership in small teams ( 2 - 8 people)
• Product knowledge, FC products in production and older (> 5 years)
• Product design including ergonomics, especially for vacuum cleaners
• Product creation process (e.g. PMF)
• Work shop experience e.g. practical
• Writing technical project reports (English)
• Doing time plans in MS Project
• Excel sheet
• presentation skills, including the ability to describe technical findings in an simple way
• Testing procedures and standards
Foundation within :
• Product costing
• Patent processes
• Electronics (hardware)
• Power systems (electrical motors, batteries and controls)
• Acoustics, vibration and noise evaluation and how to design for reduced emissions
• Dust removal (Nozzle design active/passive)
• Separation technologies
Preferred Career Experience :
• Has been active within a product development organization developing mass-market products, has a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Has some skills to lead small teams in projects
• Has 2 - 3 years experience of Computer-aided design (CAD - CatiaV5)
• Has a good product knowledge of vacuum cleaners, small domestic appliances and similar products
• Proven experience in working in projects
• Practical experience of building prototypes
• Has good knowledge in the majority of above described expert areas
