About us

Our group within pre-development is responsible for evaluation of new advance technology both for conventional and future powertrain solutions.

The main driver being the increased demand for highly efficient and sustainable propulsion systems.

Our vision is "Best combination of energy carrier and converter for each HD transport solution".

The work is performed as an assignments within Research and Advanced Engineering in the Scania development process.

We are active both in the field of combustion engine development for increased efficiency and sustainable renewable fuels including hydrogen as well as powertrains with increased electrification or fully electrified.

The work is generally very cross functional and includes cooperation's and joint projects with our strategic partners as well as collaborations in research projects performed at universities.

Assignment

We are now looking for a development engineer to support our work in further improving our conventional powertrains with clean highly efficient combustion engines to meet future demands on legislation and competitiveness.

Depending on your profile the work will be a mix of own independent investigations as well as leading and coordination of development assignments within the group and the line organization with focus on combustion engine pre-development.

We are always trying to find the best synergies between simulation based and experimental methods in the investigations using tools as CFD Converge, GT-Suite, single- and multicylinder engine testing. Continuous improvements of methods and models is an important part of our work.

Personal profile

• You have a M.Sc. degree or post graduate studies within thermodynamics, energy or mechanical engineering.
• Or have acquired equivalent knowledge through substantial work experience within the relevant area.
• Experience from the field of internal combustion engine development including interaction with exhaust gas aftertreatment system is desired.
• Multicylinder testing including knowledge about control system and contact network within engine development is a merit. Knowledge and experience within electrified propulsion is also meritorious.

As a person you are structured and have the ability to work independently while at the same time you like working with others and are driven by an inspiring climate with many talented colleagues around you.

You are engaged, curious and have the ability and will to bring new ideas and achieve results. A sound analytical approach to any problem is desirable.

Fluent in spoken and written English is mandatory. Swedish language skills are not mandatory, but an ambition to learn the language is essential.

This position gives good possibilities to work at the frontier of engine development with new technologies and future challenges.
