Are you interested in becoming a member of a team working in a cross-functional, dynamic and challenging environment close to the market and the customer?

Apply and join us at Defence Truck Chassis Development.

This is an exciting opportunity that will give you a great understanding of the complete vehicle and its performance.
Defense customers have highly set expectations that we as a team need to deliver on. Every new assignment will involve new challenges and opportunities to learn.

The Team

We are a team with plenty of experience in product development and customer needs within defense, who enjoy working together to reach our goals in a challenging but also fun environment.

We always strive to share what we are working on to spread knowledge and make sure we capture all the skills we have in hand to solve the challenges together. We enjoy solving problems both within the team and with our cross-function and always strive to find the best solutions for Scania.

As we now are in an intensive period, we need a development engineer who wants to take initiative and technical responsibility for the development assignments to meet our customers' requirements.

Customized solutions for trucks are an important and growing area where Scania aims to fulfill specific customer demands.

Your tasks

In the group, you will have a dedicated area of responsibility on the chassis. You will not be alone in this, but have warm support from the rest of the group.

Your work:

• Product development to reach defense customer requirements. Often done in development projects through close collaboration with cross functions such as corresponding A-order group, purchasing, production, aftermarket, and sub-suppliers.
• Maintaining your area of responsibility when design changes are introduced in your area of responsibility or when legal requirements change.
• Being a part of deviation handling for both internal deviations and customer deviations through FQ:s.

In your role:

• You get an excellent opportunity to learn, not only about the complete vehicle and its performance under tough conditions but also to understand the defense customers and their expectations of the truck.
• You will partly develop the product yourself, but also, if necessary, produce a work order for ordering development assignments that are part of your area of responsibility.
• You get the opportunity for training in leadership because it is part of the work to lead and secure deliveries from the development assignments that have been ordered.
• As a development engineer with us, you work with the entire truck and with a great variety of assignments. You are constantly learning something new!
This position is also a great way to further develop your future career.

We work in fast and scalable processes, and you quickly see the results of your designs.

Your profile

You are a university or master's engineer, preferably with a few years of experience in product development. Furthermore, we are looking for a person that is:

• Taking initiative within the area of responsibility. Furthermore is creative, solution-oriented, and have an understanding and interest in how the truck as a whole and its subsystems work.
• Positive, flexible, and like to collaborate with others, both within the group but also with other cross-functions e.g. project managers, purchasing, production, and suppliers.
• Working in a structured way and keep your focus even under pressure.
• Results-oriented and strive to achieve set goals.

It is an advantage if you have good knowledge of Scania module systems and our development processes.

Experience with CATIA V5/Enovia, OAS, and FRAS is also an advantage.
Swedish is not mandatory but meritorious.

Who am I as your manager?

I see my role as manager to create an open and inclusive atmosphere, providing skill capture, team spirit, and diversity in our everyday work. By respecting co-workers' needs and acting to give the best support possible and the best prerequisites for the team to deliver with desired quality, individuals will grow as a team and create work-life value.

You can always trust in my full support and respect.
