As part of Development & Engineering, the D&E Packaging Material organization is responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing world class packaging material and converting solutions, enabling Tetra Pak to deliver competitive packaging solutions with a clear environmental focus.
We are now looking for a Development Engineer to join our Surface Treatment team. The main responsibilities will be to develop, evaluate, validate and document innovative solutions related to surface treatment and adhesion, delivering this to our development projects. You will work closely with team members and Technical Managers.
In this role you will:
• Act as a project team member in development projects
• Drive technical know-how activities
• Drive further knowledge in adhesion mechanisms and material science regarding surface chemistry and modification by surface treatment
• Have surface treatment equipment and process parameter responsibility
• Be in contact with converting factories on technical issues regarding equipment and process
• Have contact with suppliers

You are motivated by problem solving and interested in finding new solutions for future packaging. Your communication style is open and you have a willingness to share information. Analytical reasoning and a structured way of working is a must.
To be successful you will need 3-5 years experience from the Paper, Polymer or Paper Converting industry. If you have experience working with surface treatment such as plasma, corona or surface oxidation this will be highly beneficial. You have an academic background with a Master of Science in Chemistry, Physics, Nanoscience or Mechanical Engineering. Training in Six Sigma and/or Project Management will be considered as a merit.
