The purpose of this position is to strengthen our position further, with an expert with responsibility for development of optical measurement principles and technologies.
Working tasks
In the role as development engineer with focus on spectroscopy, your area of responsibility will be to lead and drive the development of our optical measurement instruments. Within your area of expertise, you will contribute with your understanding of different measurement principles and how they can be applied in different applications and processes. Your knowledge of UV-VIS, NIR and IR spectroscopy will therefore be crucial. As development engineer you will actively be searching for new technologies and solutions and exploring the possibility of applying them for new products. The work also includes improving existing measuring instruments and finding new application areas for these. Our development projects are run in multidisciplinary teams in close cooperation with e.g. product managers. We have our own prototype workshop and tests take place in our modern laboratories and at our customers' production sites. You participate in all phases of the development work and get the opportunity to follow a product from idea to commercialization.
Your background
You have a solid education in science or technology (MSc or PhD) with particularly UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopic principles and technology. You have worked practically with various applications, and you preferably also have experience from industrial online systems. Knowledge or experience from pulp and paper industry is a strong merit.
We value strong analytical skills and ability to self-organize. The role includes work both in laboratory and field environment, including customer trials, and your communication skills and accuracy are therefore crucial. We work with colleagues and customers globally and a good command of English, both verbal and written, are essential.
