HMI Development Engineer

The role:

As Development Engineer at Autoliv, you will work in a group within the company that develops automotive safety products in close cooperation with the group's research unit.

The HMI (Human Machine Interaction) Engineer is responsible for generating the user experience logic and flow for new features and customer facing technologies within the aspects of automotive safety systems.

The projects can involve product improvements as well as development of new products based on advances in the research world, or to meet the new customers' requirements for automotive safety. We are now looking for an engineer who will focus on development in various concept and design solutions, both in electronics, software and mechanics.

As a development engineer within HMI concepts, it is your task to seek necessary information and knowledge to conduct pilot studies with both internal and external partners, such as universities and companies. You are expected to be able to lead the development work with focus on products that meet the customer's needs with a business perception in mind.

As the projects can be within several different technical areas, there are high demands on your ability and willingness to learn new things and to lead innovative teams consisting of experts in different areas. You will work on a global market with contacts internally and externally and report to your group manager in Vårgårda. The group you belong to is a part of our Tech Center, where we drive development forward across departmental and group boundaries.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role we believe that you have:

• Higher Education Diploma- or Master of Science in Engineering, with a major relevant for the role
• Experience in Project Management
• Working experience from development of technical products
• Working experience and good knowledge within HMI (Human Machine Interaction)
• Interested in, and good ability to work with customer contacts
• Good knowledge in written and spoken English

Experience we see as an advantage:

• HMI product development within Automotive industry
• Mechatronics and programming skills
• Concept development and proof of concept
• Risk and safety analyses
• Good knowledge in written and spoken Swedish

As a person you have:

• Ability to prioritize and plan your day and to meet deadlines
• Good cooperation and communication skills, as the work involves contacts in a global company,
both internally and externally
• Ability to switch between seeing problems from a detailed and holistic perspective
• Ability and willingness to learn new things
