Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Pre-Development & Research is responsible for developing, testing and piloting future frontier ATS concepts. This work is done using agile and self-steered teams with the ambition to detect and evaluate upcoming technologies, and prepare these for industrialisation.

One of the groups within the department, On-board Platform & Simulations, has the strategic and operational responsibility for developing the next generation of vehicle architecture related to the ATS environment. This includes design and test of the complete on-board platform, and creating simulations of sensors-, software- and hardware interactions.

Your work duties
This position is located in Södertälje and you will be a part of an agile development team. As Development Engineer for ATS Simulation, you will work with and develop simulations of both individual vehicles and entire vehicle fleets. Your tasks will include developing tools for simulation of vehicle dynamics, vehicle behaviour and sensors, as well as software/hardware-in-the-loop and environmental modelling. This position also includes coordination of internal/external development teams and evaluation of new potential technologies.

Your profile
You have good knowledge in written and spoken English. International experience and cultural awareness is considered an advantage. You will have extensive contacts internally and externally, it is therefore crucial that you have a positive mindset, and are a terrific team player. You have an academic engineering degree (B.Sc., M.Sc. and/or Phd) and experience from high-tech development projects.

In addition, you are interested in simulation. This includes experience from simulation development, and how to continuously evolve this work over time. Knowledge of the game engine Unity 3D is an advantage, since we are using this as a platform for developing our simulation tools. We have our own VR room for demonstrations.
