Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Engine development is now in an very interesting phase where the future engine platforms are in focus to enable sustainable powertrains within the TRATON group. Combustion engines - with a wide variety of fuels - will be a vital propulsion source in the heavy vehicle powertrains for several decades ahead. Both alone, but of course also integrated with electrified hybrid solutions. The upcoming noise legislation steps implies clearly reduced noise levels, which is a true challenge.

The engine Dynamics, Acoustics & Tribology group is an analytically strong group built up by 12 coworkers. The group delivers expertise within these areas by advanced technical simulations as well as acoustic testing. The work is performed cross functional, cooperating with the rest of the powertrain development groups as well as the full vehicle development organization. There is also a well-established cooperation with the MAN engine acoustic team in Nürnberg.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a driven development engineer, that will have the main focus in engine acoustic testing. Preferably you have at least a few years of experience within the competence area, or in a nearby field of expertise. You have a Master Degree in Noise & Vibration, Structural Dynamics or similar.

Since the work is performed in a cross functional environment with several people involved, we are looking for a communicative person that is willing to push the area forward, both when it comes to the product as well as the process and working methods. When the existing processes might not work, you are willing to find new ways that can take us to an improved normal situation.

The work mainly includes noise measurements in the two Scania engine noise test cells. As a development test engineer you are responsible for the complete chain, i.e. planning, preparation, measurement, analysis, results review and reporting. Speaking and writing in English is no problem for you, and you have at least basic Swedish skills.

What's in it for you?
You will be working in an inclusion- and diversity-based environment with varied and challenging work assignments. Your colleagues have a great enthusiasm for technology and will support your work in a collaborative manner. Continuous improvement and professional development of our employees is a priority for us. We support and encourage our employees to attend training courses both within the company and externally as well as attend conferences and similar to always be in the leading edge of knowledge. Whatever your professional aspirations are, Scania's varied and numerous career development paths will help you achieve them.

On top of this, we offer our employees other benefits such as company car, mutual bonus, occupational pension, flexible working hours, training facilities, lunch at reduced prices and much more is offered. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje, Scania Job Express.
