Scania wants to be the leading supplier of sustainable transport solutions and a large factor in this is working with new technology within the areas connectivity and autonomous vehicles. In order to accomplish this we need to develop and integrate a wide range of new technologies and hardware into our trucks.
We are now looking for you who is newly graduated or with work experience, what's important is that you are interested in working with the latest technologies within electronic hardware both in theory and in practice. As a development engineer we want you to work as part of a team developing the specifications for hardware such as control units, cameras, LIDAR/RADAR and infotainment systems. You will follow the development from concept phase to full integration into a production vehicle ensuring the requirements are fulfilled and correct but also handling issues as they arise.
Our group, Electronic Hardware, at Scania Technical Center in Södertälje forms the core of competence within the field of electronic hardware at Scania. We are a great group with a good mix of men and women of all ages where knowledge and advice is readily available within the group. Together we never give up and with good spirit work together to ensure that Scania maintains the highest quality electrical system and hence solve the challenges that arise.

Your work assignments
In your role you will work within project teams representing and being responsible for the electronic hardware. Handling internal discussions as well as discussions with suppliers and external partners.

Your task will be to develop and collect the needed requirements in a requirement specification for the electronic hardware. The requirements will be collected from internal standards, experience of colleagues throughout the company and in deep collaboration with system owners and software developers.

Your work will also involve working with the physical hardware both on a bench and in the vehicles taking part in testing and verification of the requirements.

In the long run you will also be responsible for developing your and the companies knowledge within new technology areas. Learning about the forefront of electronics through conferences and seminars and being able to suggest suitable technologies for upcoming needs and spreading the knowledge within the organisation.

Your profile
We are looking for engineers with an interest in new technologies and working at the forefront of the transport industry. Previous experience is not a requirement but you preferably have a master's degree in electrical engineering or similar.

As a person, you have commitment and a natural drive, you are structured and like a high pace. You are flexible and enjoy working independently while making use of the knowledge and experience of the colleagues around you to achieve the best possible results for the team. You need to be an involved co-worker and strive towards reaching commonly set goals.

You master English in both speaking and writing and should know or have an interest in learning Swedish.
