"Development Engineer – Consumables for Submerged Arc Welding"
ESAB’s Consumables Research & Development’s team develops a wide range of welding consumables for manual and mechanised welding applications. We are now looking for a team member to our R&D team for Submerged Arc Welding.
As a Development Engineer your main responsibility will be developing fluxes for submerged arc welding, including maintenance and modifications of existing consumables. You are expected to give advanced technical support to ESAB’s production and marketing team and co-operate with quality- and purchasing departments in welding and material related questions. The job will involve technical documentation in English as e.g. instructions for production, inspections and for raw materials.
The job requires a degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry or similar (MSc or BSc). The person we are looking for will ideally have an IWE certificate and/or experience from R&D work, welding technology or industry. As we are a part of a global company you need to be fluent in English, written as well as spoken. Knowledge in Swedish is preferred but not absolutely necessary.
As person you should be analytical, methodical and have the ability to work independently. Since the role includes collaboration with several parts of the organisation you need to hold the ability to communicate well with all levels of the business.
The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. As we operate in a global group you will be expected to travel to ESAB’s factories from time to time.
