Volvo Technology (VTEC) is an innovation company that provides expert functions and develops new technology for "hard" as well as "soft" products within the transport and vehicle industry. We are involved in all stages of the technology development, from applied research to industrialization. The work is mainly carried out in projects together with Volvo Group companies, in national and international research programs and private-public partnerships including academia, research institutes and different companies.
The group Vehicle Solutions and Transport Analysis (6350) within the department of Vehicle and Transport Solutions (6300) performs research and development, with the primary goals to develop sustainable transport solutions and to analyse impacts and effects on the transport system. Our mission is to secure strategic technologies, innovations and competencies for the Volvo group. To perform this we have a multidisciplinary staff of employees, skilled in computer, human and engineering sciences.
To strengthen the development of sustainable future transport solutions we are now looking for a person with skills in the area of transport and traffic modeling, simulation and analysis. Experience from vehicle concepts and transport system analysis is also desired and knowledge of the vehicle and transport industry is a plus.
Examples of work are:
• Support and manage projects, internally the Volvo group and externally on a national as well as international level
• Development and evaluation of transport applications and solutions, having a clear basis in the needs and requirements of the end user
Background:
Solid academic background, preferably a MSc or PhD in the area of Engineering Physics, Traffic Engineering or similar.
A background and competence in the areas below are seen favorable:
• Modeling and simulation
• Analysis
• Vehicle concepts
• Traffic simulation
• Documentation skills
• Moreover, you should have entrepreneurial and innovative skills, a holistic perspective and be target oriented
We believe that you are flexible and open minded with the ability to work independently but also to act as a good team player. Further prerequisites for this position are analytical skills and thorough and good communication skills. Knowledge in English, written and spoken, is required; knowledge in other languages is a plus. Furthermore, you should be a good representative of the group with the ability to create trust and good relations on all organisational levels, both inside and outside, of the Volvo Group.
