At the Personal Driving Experience Centre within Product Creation at Volvo Cars we ensure that our attributes Driving Dynamics and Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) are supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. Would you like to be part of an exciting journey towards improving the driving and riding experience of our cars using actively controlled chassis systems? Then the role as Development Engineer in the Driving Dynamics Functions team is the place for you to prosper. We design and tune active control systems that play an important role to dynamically optimize energy efficiency through affecting aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance, critical for all future battery vehicles. Together we deliver a world class experience for our customers!
Your contribution
You will support the development of control functions, system tuning and hardware integration.
You will work in all project phases, from advanced engineering to production start with both CAE and physical testing of components, systems and their integration in the complete vehicle. Our dynamic driving simulator, offline simulation and physical cars will all be important tools in your work. You should enjoy traveling due to that some of the work is performed at our proving grounds in north of Sweden, Germany and Spain.
You will also take part in benchmark of existing solutions and get the chance to follow the latest research.
Competence is Important
We believe you have a M.Sc in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, engineering physics or similar. You have experience from development of complex vehicle systems and possess knowledge in vehicle dynamics, mechatronics and physics. You have a sincere interest in complex control systems and dynamics. You will also need good knowledge of simulation tools. Matlab/Simulink, Adams or Simpack, C++, Python.

You are customer focused, with an innovation drive and a self-leadership that enable you to implement. You have good interpersonal skills, thrive from teamwork and have the ability to build trust. You are a great communicator, used to work cross functional, you build relations and persuade when needed. You have a great analytical capability and are eager to consistently learn.
