As a Development Engineer within Drivelines & Hybrids you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of engineering tasks in an open and innovative environment. The development engineer will have responsibilities within one or more of the following areas
Core Responsibilities
Design and optimization of gearbox components, i.e. gears, shafts, synchronizers, gearbox housings, etc.
Design and optimization of gearbox systems and features, i.e. fuel efficiency, noise & vibration, durability, gear shifting system, etc.
Component responsibility for the complete development cycle from early phase engineering to product maintenance and aftermarket issues
The work includes contacts and cooperation with other design departments, verification teams and the production sites
As a development engineer you have to find the best compromise between all requirements like performance, cost, packaging and weight
Preferred qualifications
Master Degree in Engineering, preferably in mechanics, physics or equivalent
Experience from work within the automotive industry
CAD Pro/E, advanced surface modeling (housings)
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Personal skills
Communicative with an open and positive attitude
Analytical
Creative
Flexibility to work with different tasks within different engineering areas
Technical interest within the automotive engineering area
A drive to continuously challenge and improve
Ability to take initiative and to work independently
