In our high paced expansion there are huge demands on scalability and creativity. Since 2005 Klarna has gone from a start-up to an international player in the payments industry and we are now creating the future of e-commerce. With an exponential growth in transactions the demands on availability and technological achievements are rising like never before. We are now looking for a Director to our development organisation who will focus on scalability in every domain.

As a Development Director you have the overall responsibility for one of our software development departments which consists of 50 skilled engineers and four direct reporting managers. During 2013 the number of transactions will probably more than double and this means that the organisation will need to perform and move in a speed like never before. The things we do today will be business critical for many years to come.

Your mission is to raise the overall efficiency by developing the department to one of the best development organisations in Europe. We expect you to love and nurture growth and to build a top notch international team. You seek scalability in the tech stack, develop the teams and managers and raise the overall performance of the engineering division by working close with other departments. You report directly to the VP Engineering and will be part of the engineering management team.

We are looking for a pragmatic experienced leader with a long history of establishing and driving technical initiatives in fast growing organizations. You have a proven track record of raising efficiency in agile, tech-heavy engineering organisations and understand the future impact of the technical choices we do today. You are used to managing managers and are a former developer yourself.
