Components have manufactured transformer components since the beginning of the 20th century. The business unit, which is ABB?s largest manufacturer of tap-changers and IEC-bushings, is located in Ludvika and we are ABB group?s center for power transmission technology. The unit also has research and development responsibility for these products and markets all over the world.
Tasks:
If you want to develop new bushings and be part of a close-knit team of dedicated engineers, this is an exciting challenge. As a mechanical designer, you will contribute with your social skills and your competencies in Creo/Windchill or similar tools. You will be responsible for creating innovative solutions for internal and external customers all over the world. You will work in a team environment with challenging and dynamic tasks.
Regardless of focus, you will ? both locally and globally ? develop and work with exciting designs in close cooperation with colleagues, customers and suppliers, giving you good knowledge of our business and processes. As our Development Engineer you will get a unique overview of the business from product design to production, processes and testing.
Requirements:
Presumably you hold a Master or Bachelor in Engineering, but a high school diploma and solid experience combined with knowledge within the area is valuable as well. In order to succeed, knowledge of mechanical design and familiarity with Creo/Windchill or other 3D software is required. Currently, you may be working with design of products at a company such as ABB, Sandvik or Atlas Copco within a similar area. You will collaborate with people from other cultures at different plants and technical centers, and therefore you have to be comfortable with English, both in writing and speaking.
Since you will work closely with your colleagues, it is important that you have the ability to cooperate. Moreover, you are driven, interested and enterprising. As part of the group you are humble, perceptive and contribute with a positive attitude.
