hela Sverige SVT Interactive (SVTi) is SVT's digital development department, a unit with about 120 employees, who work with cutting edge online services, where the media habits of the future are created.
Now we are looking for a curious developer with an interest in delivering video on a large scale over the internet.
About the team
The team working with video distribution for SVT's online services is responsible for development of the platform that provides viewers with SVT's video content. Quality, innovation and business value are our guiding principles. We work with everything from the choice of physical hardware in servers and networks to software development of the video platform's different components. We work in a collaborative way so that everyone in the team can be part of influencing the platform's overall development.
About the role
As part of a relatively small team, you will have a great influence in the design of technology and architecture, and you will get to test and evaluate cutting edge technologies in the field. You will work together with multiple stakeholders to ensure a stable and efficient platform that makes SVTs distribution on the Internet as future-proof as possible.
We prefer that you have experience in, or are curious to learn more about, some of the following areas:
Development of high-performance services in Java or C ++
Distributed scalable file system
Distributed scalable databases
High-performance network architecture
Methods of global and local load balancing
Your profile
We believe that you are solution-oriented and creative. You like to learn new things and appreciate a challenge. You take ownership of your work and have a strong focus on quality. You have previously worked with High Performance / High Availability systems and know the importance of being able to work agile and maintaining quality. You are curious as a person and have an open mind to other people's thoughts and ideas.
