Volvo's Audio Systems team are responsible for the handsfree system, AVAS system and complete audio system in the car and are part of the department In Car Digital. In Car Digital delivers the complete infotainment system to our customers.
We continuously strive to exceed our customers expectations and will now strengthen our team to meet the future requirements in the next generation of cars from Volvo.
What you'll do
For this developer position, we are looking for a person with main skills within the area of system design for audio and/or handsfree systems. In this role, you will work in an internal agile team but also alongside our suppliers to secure the best solutions for our current as well as our upcoming systems.
* You will be part of designing the audio and/or handsfree systems.
* Tune the performance of the systems
* Make objective measurements of the systems and subjective evaluation.
Do you fit the profile?
You have the desire and ambition to work within the Audio development area. As a person, you are self-motivated to deliver on time, on target and with quality. You have very good communication skills and are a team player. Flexibility and a growth mindset is important qualities to possess.
* University degree in engineering with focus on audio or equal competence level achieved by long term experience
* Documented experience from engineering work, preferably automotive and electrical engineering
* Experience in the audio field such as music producer, sound engineer, loudspeaker builder or similar (hobby as well as professional work) will be an asset
* Measurement experience, preferably in the audio field will be an asset
* Basic understanding of acoustics will be desirable
* Basic understanding of digital signal processing (preferably audio processing) is meritorious
* Experience of requirements management
* Fluent in English, both verbally and written
* Knowledge of Agile ways of working is meritorious
* Driver's license (B)

Location for this position is onsite in Gothenburg, Sweden from where we expect you are able to work with adequate working permits. Working proficiency in the English language, speech and writing, is a requirement. Combined with the same skills in the Swedish language is considered a merit.
