Developer, 5G Network System Verification, Resilience, Robustness
Are you ready to create the 5G future?
Predicting the future is fun. Inventing it is powerful. We do both.
5G is coming soon, and Ericsson is the early leader in bringing it to market. With the commercial launch of 5G expected in 2020, and pre commercial trails already happening now, there has never been a better time for you to make your mark. The possibilities are endless across industries - from automotive and transport to agriculture, utilities, and more.
At NSV Resilience/Robustness our responsibility is to ensure that the quality and functionality of both LTE and 5G RAN fulfills our customer expectations. Today we work in an international environment with colleagues in Europe, Asia, and North America. We are looking for software developers to our teams with a strong interest in both verification, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD). At NSV Resilience we work with the product end-to-end enabling a very broad view of the complete system in a customer like environment.
Job description
We are looking for a developer to join our existing group of talented and innovative 5G Engineers working with Robustness verification and automation in our test product. In this role you will develop, perform and evaluate manually/automated Robustness tests of SW and HW for 5G, including trouble-shooting and reproduction of faults. Design in Java/JCAT/MJE will be the main task.
For you, this is a great opportunity to be involved in the development of 5G and to build up knowledge at the front edge of future mobile technology. In this role you will be working on a real 5G E2E RAN configuration and thus get the possibility to learn to configure and troubleshoot a radio NW very similar to Ericsson's customers. You will collaborate with many teams inside and outside the development unit and across the globe.
In our team we are responsible for verifying the robustness of the system, for example resilience to various disturbances such as link breaks and restarts. New features and product improvements are activated and verified with realistic traffic load. Automation is a central part of our daily work. Short feedback loops are important in our development process, which is based on Continuous Integration practices.
NSV is leading the transition towards Lean and Agile and we work with continuous improvements and Scrum/Kanban in our daily operation. We aim to work close to our customers and there will be possibilities to take on short time assignments with on-site support at customer sites.
Core Competences:
We expect you to understand Product Development and the Product Life Cycle. We are a company who needs to act fast in a changing world, thus you need to be able to adapt and respond quickly to change and also deliver results to meet customer expectations. You also need to be creating and innovating and easily work with other people. You are expected to be able to plan and drive your own work, but also in your team work to reach the common goals.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Requirements
MSc/BSc level in a technical discipline or the equivalent level of knowledge
Excellent English Skills
Good programming skills in Java, C/C++
Knowledge in LTE/5G wireless protocols
