Support and Services, a business area of Saab, supplies a wide range of services and integrated support solutions to customers in defence and on commercial markets for cost-efficient support of systems and platforms throughout their life cycle.

The Design department currently consists of 9 designers, all located in Linköping. Our customers are the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV  and internally Saab AB. The Design department performs design assignments related to the Armed Forces flying operations. This includes design and modification of ground support equipment, tools required for maintenance and servicing of aircraft and helicopters. It also includes modification and development of flight safety equipment, pilot equipment, rescue equipment, etc., as well as design and development of modification solutions for the transport aircraft of the Armed Forces. The department also perform structural strength analysis.

Your future challenge
The employment concerns design and product development mainly within the area of Flight Safety Equipment. The area is aiming for the Swedish Air Force and includes all types of pilot equipment, for example flight suits, helmets, masks, etc., but also includes rescue equipment. Your task embrace every aspect from minor changes of design drawings to contribute in flight-safety related development projects, primarily within the field of helmet and mask systems. In addition to the employment within designing flight safety equipment, you will also attend as a design resource within other fields of activities that are run by the design department.  

Todays demands

• A Master/Bachelor of engineer or equivalent
• Good knowledge in design- and drawing techniques
• Experience of working in CAD environments (AutoCad and AutoCad Inventor are specially qualifying)
• Good or basic knowledge in design materials
• Responsible to work independently as well as being a creative part in a group
• Good English and Swedish speech and writing
