We, Volvo Trucks Design Team at Volvo Group, are looking for an Industrial Designer to join our dynamic and diverse team in Gothenburg. Working with us at Product Design is an opportunity to work in a global environment with truly amazing product design development. We are a team of passionate colleagues from many different backgrounds and cultures working together towards our common goals.
You will be part of a global organization of design excellence that creates superior customer value by designing appealing products with strong brand profiles for the Volvo Group.
What will you work with as an Industrial Designer?
As an Industrial Designer, you will participate in a variety of projects transforming complex requirements into functional, human-centric design solutions for the future. You will work close together with your new colleagues in our multi-disciplinary design team. In the project related work, you will be the spokesperson for Product Design, as you will collaborate with stakeholders from various parts of the company, i.e. colleagues in the engineering community. Our Volvo Truck Chief Designers will give you guidance and support so that you 're aligned with the set design strategy and for the success of our customers.
We are facing a growing focus on circularity and sustainability in our design work and we are part of the exciting journey implementing cutting edge technologies such as electromobility, connectivity and automation into our trucks.
In this position you will work within Volvo Group Trucks Technology, belong to the Complete Vehicle organization, be located in Gothenburg, Sweden and report to the Design Director Volvo Trucks.

Therefore, we need a talented individual with excellent sketching and presentation technique to be able to continue on our journey in driving prosperity through transport solutions. As our industry is changing, we believe it is important that you are conscious of the wider society and grab your inspiration by keeping yourself current on societal as well as business trends, and apply that into your daily work.
As your will represent Product Design we need you to be a person who acts proactively and takes responsibility for your deliveries. We also expect you to have the ability to communicate subjective design solutions and contribute to solve complex cross-functional issues. You do this with a focus on Product Design at the same time as you thrive on being part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Other key requirements for the role are:
Minimum bachelor degree in Industrial or Automotive Design
Some years' experience in design related creative environment, preferably in the automotive industry
Proficiency with digital design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator
Experience with CAD programs such as Alias
Fluent in English (oral and written)
