Interactive unit is a part of RISE ICT division, a group of world-class researchers in the field of ICT (information and communication technologies), with expertise that ranges from hardware, software and service development to interaction design and innovation processes.At interactive unit we aim to create ground-breaking user experiences and offer expertise in interaction design, visualization, user behaviour, sound design, games and entertainment. Through creative and collaborative processes, we empower our partners to create new ways of doing and thinking. Currently we have studios in the six cities in Sweden through which we develop new research areas, concepts, products and services, and provide strategic advice to corporations and public organizations.About the positionWe are looking for a design researcher to be part of our group focused on visualisation and interaction design. Our group focuses on applying cutting-edge visualisation and interaction design to immersive display environments, stereoscopic 3D-technology, information architecture, augmented and virtual reality, geo and ambient visualisation, exhibition design etc. across diverse application areas. The application areas where C-Studio has been working mainly but not limited to include sustainable cities and environment, learning and education, health and wellbeing, industrial processes and artistic visualisations.We are specifically looking for someone with great design research skills that can contribute to a sustainable digitalization of society. The scope of the work can also be influenced by your specialist competence and research interests.As a researcher in the group, you will be planning, organizing and executing various research projects, e.g. international, national and internal. Additionally, the role includes tasks such as communication with project partners, coordinating activities within RISE, reporting to financing bodies, dissemination etc. Further, you will be supporting other ongoing research projects and leading or actively participating in research proposal writing.The location of the position is in Norrköping, Sweden. As part of RISE, we have access to unique experimental instrumentation, as well as the competence of experts from a wide range of different research areas.Who are you? You hold a PhD in a field that bridges sustainability with interaction design, UX (user experience), or industrial design, for instance Design for Sustainable Behaviour or Sustainable HCI (human computer interaction) or similar field. You have the capacity to develop the research field by contributing to the development of theories and methods for participatory or user-centred approaches to design and sustainability. You have in depth proven knowledge and experience of design research and design methods, including field studies, probes, workshops, surveys, interviews, journeys, idea generation, and prototyping, as well as experience of research through design. You are accustomed to write applications for funding to funding agencies as well as publishing results in research reports, in peer-reviewed journals and in conferences.You are accustomed to work independently, but you are also a good team player. You have excellent and professional communication skills (oral and writing) in both English and Swedish. You are a curious researcher and embrace new challenges. You should have the initiative and ambition to lead projects and project teams.
