Our department, Design Method Development, has the mission to develop, supply and support our organization with methodology, methods and tools to create world-class products. In doing so, we gain synergies and operational excellence in a truly global R&D organization and meet the increasing need for data related to our products. For our team in Sandviken, we are now looking for a Design Method Developer who wants to play a part in efficiently implementing a common way of working globally with Product Lifecycle Management and development of insert design methods and automation platforms - all in line with the Sandvik Coromant Strategy.
Key performance areas
As a Design Method Developer, you support the product development of cutting tools. You are involved in improving the efficiency of processes from idea to production, with the aim to develop, implement and support methods and tools for an effective product development process which enables automation and ensures recycling of knowledge gained in the process. Conducting training and workshops to introduce finalized tools and methods to the business is part of your responsibility, as is acting as a mentor in transferring knowledge to co-workers in various product projects.
Your profile
To be successful as a Design Method Developer, you need a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering, preferably within the mechanical engineering area, or have equivalent knowledge obtained through previous work experience. We value a profound knowledge of the NX CAD system and a good understanding of product development methods and tools, especially with regard to insert development. A background in Product Lifecycle Management and CAD/CAM/CAE operations is advantageous, as is previous leadership experience. As we operate in a global setting, your English skills are excellent, both in writing and verbally.
