Design Leader Engineer - pedal sensors & switches

The section Brake & Vehicle Dynamics Electronics has the main purpose to develop mechatronic control system strategies within the area. As a Design Leader Engineer - pedal sensors & switches you are responsible for securing the hardware content of pedal switches through all platforms, from early studies to industrialisation. You will also be responsible for a broad span of job assignments and develop a comprehensive view of the technology and different car projects. You are going to have a cross functional role and establish relationships with representatives from many areas of the vehicle meaning and therefore build and maintain a wide personal network within Volvo Car Group. As part of our team, you will get access to long term development and the possibility to take responsibility in other areas.

Main responsibilities
• Specify the electrical interface for the sensors and switches
• Specify the component targets including electrical, mechanical and environmental requirements
• Participate in the quotation process of new projects as a technical expert
• Review the electrical design of the system supplier
• Decide verification methods in cooperation with the supplier and approve verification results
• Participate in advanced engineering projects with support in hardware and software
• Keep track of time plans for all projects
• Set requirements and follow up supplier deliveries
• Make sure that the quality of the product meets customer expectations

Required qualifications
• BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education within mechatronic
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• An asset would be experience from automotive and of project management

• Strong analytical skills
• Good communicative and team working skills
• Self starter and goal orientated
• Ability to build a personal network
