hela Sverige Department Engine RM12/DR990 is a product department within Design & Validation, Technical Operations, designated for whole engine issues focusing hardware. We perform product monitoring, analysis and investigations of engine hardware and function, and examples of our services are decision support and recommendations in terms of handling or function of the engine. Historically the department has focused on product support for engine RM12 for the Gripen fighter, but is now including a mission to be a focal point for product development of engine RM12. The department also has a product support responsibility for the stationary gas turbine DR990.
Several of our employees have extensive experience in RM12, from product development to maintenance and product support, but not so many years left in active service. This is one reason why we need to recruit to begin reinforcing the product center.
Job description:
The department organizes component engineers for RM12 and DR990, with a mission to ensure functionality, lifing and airworthiness for their components, where a component usually is an engine module, for example the fan module. This means that the component engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining sufficient knowledge and understanding by systematically using experience from product development, manufacturing, maintenance, testing and use. Typical tasks for a component engineer could be to collect experience from testing and fleet leading engines, initiate and contribute to design improvements, investigations and handling of non-conformances, repair concepts and problem solving at componentand whole engine level. We need to strengthen our knowledge regarding design intent on component and engine level for the RM12 engine, and due to this we need to reinforce our design lead capacity in the RM12 area.
Qualifications:
You are an engineer with a BSc degree education or equal experience
Industrial experience of Product Development and/or Product Support
You have focus on results in time with quality assurance, always with the customer needs in mind
You have a great deal of perseverance when whole engine knowledge takes time to build.
Good communication skills both internally and externally and ability to lead cross functional teams within improvements programs/tasks
You are organized and like to manage a team as well as working across departments and roles
As a person, you have a genuine interest in aviation and aerospace engines and can combine theoretical knowledge with practice. You have an ability to understand both the practical application of the hardware in use and analytical approach to design, failure modes, design intent etc
Experience of systematic problem solving techniques and operational development are valued
Furthermore you can easily communicate in both Swedish and English, written as well as verbal
