BACKGROUND
Roplan Development Center - RDC is the technical department of Roplan and is divided into two units - Base Technology and Design.
Both units work in close cooperation with Roplan customers, providing deep understanding of the applications and providing optimal technical solutions. The team is the customers technical resource for mechanical seals.
Design and engineering work is carried out in project form in order to effectively meet customer requirements. Roplan has full state-of-the-art FEM and CFD calculation abilities for examining temperature distribution, applied stresses, structural dynamics and power consumption. The numerical calculations are compared with analytical calculations and verification tests carried out in a fully equipped laboratory.
To further strengthen the company’s competitive edge, Roplan is now hiring a technical as well as business oriented Design Group Manager.
THE ROLE
As Design Group Manager you will be responsible for the Design team of Roplan. The role is central and vital for the company’s future development and success. You will be managing a global team of eleven designers/engineers located in Sweden, England, USA and China.
Main responsibilities:
• Lead and develop the team to meet objectives and targets. Includes competence and personal development, as well as salary talks and appraisals of all engineering team members.
• Meeting the internal sales requirement.
• Resource planning of the projects within the design team.
• Technical interaction with Roplan group customers.
• Quality delivery cost of design projects
Since this role is global you are expected to have approx. 30-50 days of international travel per year.
The position is based in newly renovated facilities in Tumba - Stockholm and you report directly to the Technical Director of the Group.
QUALIFICATIONS
We expect you to have experience from managing technical department in a relevant business segment. It is also preferable that you have experience managing people on different locations. You probably have a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. You have previously worked with Solid Works or similar. You are fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
